Scholarships

Objective

The objective of the IMA Schoalrs Program is to promote the study of magnetics and to encourage qualified students in masters or doctoral programs to concentrate their studies in the field of magnetics. It is also an objective of this program to encourage engineering and materials science students to consider the magnetics industry for employment and career advancement.

Awards

Applicants selected as IMA Scholars will receive financial grants of up to $5,000 for a school year. The funds are given directly to the selected scholars and are unrestricted. A candidate is eligible to receive an award for two consecutive years while studying for a degree. Multiple awards may be made each year.

Requirements

Each student applying for the Scholars Program must submit a completed application providing the information requested. Preference will be toward students demonstrating a strong interest in magnetics or magnetics materials. Completed applications are to be received in October of each year.

Selection

IMA's Scholars Program Committee reviews all applications are recommendations of the committee are forwarded to the IMA Board of Directors for approval. The recipients are announced in February and presentations of the awards are made in the Spring.
